would my wedding set look weird if?

Okay. My engagement ring is a 1.5 ct diamond set in an eternity band (2.05 total ct weight.) I really like the idea of having my wedding band be colored stones (either sapphires, or emeralds) but the band that I’ve found and really like has princess cut stones, where my engagement ring is all round cut. I’m not sure if it would look weird. Also, if I stuck with diamonds for the wedding band would that be too much? Or should I just stick with a plain white gold band? Thanks!
Lol, I’m not concerned on how much he spends. I’m trying to figure out what would represent me the best. Both my fiance and I are aware we don’t need flashy jewelry, but considering our wedding is costing less than $500 he feels he’d like to at least splurge on something. I agree that perhaps round diamonds next to emerald cut may look a bit different.
There are many rings that do mix different cuts of the same stone.

Colored stones are great.Try looking for a band with emeralds or sapphires in a round shape.

Need help finding matching wedding band?

I just recently got engaged, but I want to get a head start on planning. I’m trying to find any kind of wedding band that would go beautifully with my engagement ring.

Here are two links. The first is all diamonds and the second is white and pink diamonds. I know they are from Tiffany’s and probably out of your price range as they are out of mine and most of the country’ s price range but I thought they could be a good point of reference. A good jeweler can make you a ring to look however you want it to. My ring is a “tiffany” style ring – round with six prongs and small diamonds in the bands. The jeweler custom made it for probably about 1/3 of what it would have cost at Tiffanys.

I have two engagement rings, which one should I wear?

My fiance gave me an engagement ring two years ago. It’s a white gold princess solitaire, 1/3 carat. Recently, we found a great deal on wedding rings and immediately bought them- I got a marquis bridal set that I have been wanting for a long time. I showed some of my friends my new ring, and they keep saying I should start wearing the engagement ring part (probably because its bigger and looks nicer). I understand it is part of my ring that will represent my marriage, but I cherish my solitaire. It was the first piece of jewelry my fiance ever gave me, and the only piece that I still have. What’s your opinion on which one I should wear? The bridal set is something I wanted and I picked out, the solitaire my fiance got all on his own which makes it a little more special although he says he wouldn’t mind if I wore the new ring (I think he says that because he has an engagement ring too and his wedding ring is of much better quality and he wants to start wearing it now.)

I would say wear the first one now, till you get married, because really that is the ‘engagement’ ring – the one he picked out and proposed to you with. Then when you are married, change to the other one because it is a set and will look better together. Once you have swapped, wear the other one on your other hand or wear it on a necklace, so as to keep it close to your heart and to always wear it
